Siemens to comply with US sanctions on Iran

German conglomerate Siemens AG said on Tuesday it will continue to remain "in strict compliance with relevant international export control restrictions and all other applicable laws and regulations, including United States secondary sanctions" on Iran. "Based on its analysis, Siemens will take appropriate actions to align its business with the changing multilateral framework regarding Iran," the company explained.

Back in May, chief executive officer of Siemens, Joe Kaeser, said his company would no longer do business in Iran after US President Donald Trump withdrew his country from the Iran nuclear deal.

On Monday, the White House reaffirmed President Trump signed a directive to reimpose sanctions against Tehran. Trump took to Twitter earlier to warn the US will not be willing to cooperate with any country that continues "doing business with Iran."
