RWE posts EPS at €0.26 in H1, down 94% YoY

Electricity and gas supplier RWE AG reported on Tuesday its earnings per share amounted to €0.26 in the first half of 2018, down 23% compared to the same period of last year. Meanwhile, the company said its external revenue for the first six months of this year stood at €6.76 billion, dropping 8.8% year-over-year.

The Essen-based firm also reported a 94% decline in net income for the period of January to June of 2018 on an annual basis, which stood at €162 million.

"The transaction with E.ON is making good progress. As one of Europe’s leading electricity producers, we will have an even broader and stronger portfolio of assets. The ‘new’ RWE stands for an energy transition with security of supply," RWE Chief Executive Rolf Martin Schmitz stated.
