European shares decline in premarket trading

Shares in major European markets traded lower on Thursday in premarket trading, after Germany's Destatis reported an increase of 2.4% in producer prices in March. After markets open, PMI figures for Germany and the European Union are scheduled for release, as well as retail sales data for the United Kingdom.

As the earnings season continues, Nestle and Unilever posted their financial results for the first three months of 2019.

The DAX declined 0.18%, while the CAC 40 fell 0.20% in premarket trade shortly before the opening bell. The FTSE 100 lost 0.15%.

The euro added 0.06% against the dollar at 8:55 am CET, to go for $1.13025, while the pound was flat against the greenback, buying $1.30479 at the same time.
