Asian stock markets finish week higher

Equities on stock markets in China, Japan, and South Korea were finishing the last trading session of the week higher while Hong Kong's Hang Seng, Australia's S&P/ASX 200 and several other markets in the Asia Pacific region didn't work due to a public holiday. Tech giant Tencent Holdings Ltd. gained approval from authorities in Beijing to sell Nintendo Co. Ltd's Switch console in China.

In Japan, the Nikkei was up 0.46% at 7:21 am CET. The dollar was almost flat against the yen, falling just 0.07% to ¥111.914 at 7:42 am CET.

Meanwhile, in mainland China, the Shanghai Composite and the Shenzhen Composite reversed their losses, rising 0.22% and 0.40%​ at 7:43 am CET.

South Korean Kospi was up 0.29% at 7:24 am CET.
