Asian markets go down amid trade tensions, Japan data

Asian markets traded lower on Thursday amid ongoing tensions between the United States and China with tech giant Huawei at the center of it. Investors also kept an eye on Japanese data where Nikkei manufacturing PMI for May declined to 49.6 and businesses are expecting a worse situation in the economy as global trade tensions rise.

China's Shanghai Composite was down 1.08% at 4:13 am CET. Shenzhen Composite also went down 1.51% at the same time.

South Korean Kospi Composite traded 0.72% lower at 4:14 am CET.

Japanese Nikkei 225 was down 0.33% at 4:14 am CET. The dollar traded 0.14% lower against the yen, to go for 110.1990 at 4:14 am CET.

Hong Kong's Hang Seng traded 1.46% lower at 4:15 am CET.

Australia's S&P/ASX 200 also went down 0.43% at 4:13 am CET.
