Huawei assembling plant suspends production - report

Saturday, 25. May 2019 00:48

The largest assembler for Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. suspended operations at least partially, the Nikkei reported. An employee for Singapore-based Flex stated that the assembling company ordered its main factory in China to halt production of Huawei smartphones and other devices on Thursday until further notice.

"The company cited the trade war as the reason for the suspension. We are not sure when the production work will resume," the source added. The report follows news that Microsoft suspended all of its orders related to the Windows operating system and other content services from Huawei. In addition, Amazon Japan halted sales of Huawei products. Last week, the United States decided to blacklist the Chinese tech giant citing "activities that are contrary to US national security."
