Europe trades mixed with data in focus

Equities on major stock markets in Europe were trading mixed shortly after the opening bell on Tuesday with European Parliament elections and data in focus. Germany's Statistical Office Destatis reported import prices in the country rose 0.3% in April compared to the previous month, while consumer confidence declined to its lowest in two years heading into June per a GfK survey. Additional statistics on private loans and consumer confidence in the European Union and the mortgage approvals in the United Kingdom were set to be released later during the day.

The FTSE 100 grew 0.14% at 9:16 am CET, with NMC Health plc rising 3.03%. At the same time, the DAX was flat as Wirecard AG gained 1.60%. In France, the CAC 40 decreased 0.10% 9:17 am CET, headed by Credit Agricole's 0.24% drop.

The euro lost 0.13% to $1.11798 at 9:14 am CET, while the pound fell just 0.04% to $1.26743 concurrently.
