Stanely Chen will become the new head of Google's operations and sales for Greater China, the tech giant said in a statement published on Monday.

Chen was previously in charge of Google's operations in Taiwan for eight years. Before joining Google, he worked at Apple, Intel and Ericsson.

Last year, Google halted its Dragonfly Project after it was criticized by its employees over attempts to build a censored search engine for the Chinese market. The company is still waiting to see how its relationship with Huawei will unfold after the Chinese company's US ban partially disabled it from using Google's Android operating system.
