Europe mixed in premarket ahead of Draghi speech

European stock market indexes pointed to a mixed open during premarket trade as investors await speeches from central bankers as well as data on inflation in the European Union and the bloc's trade balance. Meanwhile, the race to choose a new prime minister in the United Kingdom continues as former Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson remains a strong favorite to take over from Theresa May.

The DAX lost 0.18% at 7:56 am CET. Meanwhile, France's CAC 40 increased 0.42% at 7:57 am CET and the British FTSE 100 was 0.24% higher at the same time.

The euro was 0.16% higher compared to the dollar, going for 1.12358 at 7:57 am CET. The pound was flat against the greenback, changing hands at 1.25339 as it traded 0.01% in the red.
