European stocks climb after Fed decision

European stock markets traded with gains early on Thursday after the United States Federal Reserve decided yesterday to hold the interest rates, but hinted at possible rate cuts in the future. Additionally, investors braced for the Bank of England interest rate decision expected later in the day.

The FTSE 100 was 0.45% in the green at 9:14 am CET with BHP Group advancing 1.48% at 9:15 am CET. The DAX increased by 0.89% at 9:15 am CET, led by Covestro AG gains of 2.20% at 9:16 am CET. The CAC 40 was up 0.68% at 9:15 am CET. Arcelormittal was the best performer, adding 2.21% at 9:15 am CET.

The euro added 0.47% compared to the dollar, changing hands for 1.1278 at 9:16 am CET.
