Europe mostly higher in early trade

Shares on major European stock exchanges were mostly higher early in the session on Thursday following a mixed day for stocks in Asia.

With a lack of activity on the data front, investors continued to monitor trade developments and politics. White House trade advisor Peter Navarro confirmed negotiations between China and the United States are back on track following the G20 summit in Osaka this weekend, President Donald Trump warned Iran against the further enriching of uranium.

The DAX climbed 0.25% with Continental and Covestro topping the chart. Meanwhile, the CAC 40 gained 0.17% as banks Societe Generale and Credit Agricole gained the most. In London, the FTSE 100 was flat.
