Trump directs admin to protect free speech online

United States President Donald Trump said on Thursday that he directed his administration to explore regulatory and legislative solutions to protect free speech on social media. He added that "big tech must not censor voices of the American people."

Speaking during the Social Media Summit at the White House, the US president went on to announce that he will be asking social media giants and members of Congress from both parties to come to the White House in the near future to discuss the issue of free speech online. He pointed out that it is his aims to preserve "transparency, accountability and freedom" for everybody using the platforms.
