Wall Street higher in premarket with trade in focus

United States stocks were trading in the green in premarket on Friday as investors remained focused on global trade developments. US President Donald Trump said on Thursday that he did not want to "hurt" China by imposing tariffs on its exports to the US but claimed that the measures were necessary to ensure a "fair playing field." He also claimed that the Dow Jones Industrial Average could jump by another 10,000 points to reach 37,000 after it hit 27,000 on Thursday. In other news, investors awaited the US producer price index for June due for release before the opening bell.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.32%, the Nasdaq 100 was up 0.28% and the S&P 500 gained 0.25%, all at 4:29 am ET.

The euro added 0.09% against the dollar to sell for 1.1264 at 4:29 am ET while the British pound jumped 0.15% compared to the greenback to go for 1.2540 at the same time.
