Russian watchdog Roskomnadzor said on Thursday it fined Google $11,000 after the tech giant failed to delete links to websites banned in Russia from its search engine.

Roskomnadzor noted that Google did remove some of the links but stressed that more than a third of those that should have been excluded still remain in its search results.

In February, Russian media said Google is planning to remove about 70% of the links to the banned content.
