DoJ may sue to block T-Mobile-Sprint merger - report

The United States Department of Justice (DoJ) will sue to block the merger between T-Mobile US Inc. and Sprint Corp. if the parties involved do not settle by next week, CNBC reported on Thursday.

Allegedly, T-Mobile's majority shareholder Deutsche Telekom AG is concerned that a cable company could buy the Dish Wireless and gain access to T-Mobile's network. The German company is now requesting a clause which would terminate the divestment agreement in case of such acquisition, something that the DoJ is not willing to commit to, sources close to the matter told the media network.

Without Dish buying the divested assets of T-Mobile and Sprint, the deal is sure to fall apart.
