Wirecard's revenue jumps 36.7% in H1 to €1.2B

Wirecard AG reported on Wednesday that its consolidated revenue in the first half of 2019 amounted to €1.21 billion, 36.7%$ higher than in the same period last year. A similar annual increase was recorded in the second quarter, where consolidated revenues were up by 37.4% to reach €643 million.

Meanwhile, earnings after tax grew from €157.6 million to €237.5 million, or €1.92 per share, in the first six months of 2019, a change of 50.1%. The financial services company also lifted its operating earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) by 35.8% to €342.1 million in the six month period through June. Similarly, the figure for the second quarter rose by 35.6%. The forecast for EBITDA in the whole of 2019 was raised to a range between €765 million and €815 million.

"In the first half year our growth accelerated, hence we are looking extremely optimistic towards the second half of 2019. Accordingly we have increased our EBITDA forecast for 2019 as well as our Vision 2020," said Wirecard's CEO Markus Braun.
