Dow jumps over 200 pts in premarket

Premarket trading on Wall Street saw shares deep in positive territory on Monday following a volatile week for stocks. Over the weekend, President Donald Trump downplayed recession worries, claiming the US economy continues to outperform others and adding that talks with China over a trade deal are progressing.

At 4:10 am ET, the Dow Jones climbed 240 points, the S&P 500 leaped 0.91%, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq 100 jumped 0.94%.

The euro gained 0.14% against the dollar at 4:15 am ET, buying 1.11056.
