China trade officials cancel farm trips, Dow falls 150 pts

Nasdaq fell over 1% after opening flat and the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 150 points while the S&P 500 also turned to losses on Friday as Chinese trade officials that were in the United States for trade talks decided to leave the US earlier than planned. Local US officials said that Chinese officials cancelled their trip to Montana and Nebraska where they were supposed to meet US farmers.

The Dow lost 0.32% at 1:24 pm ET, but remained above 27,000 points. Microsoft led the losses, falling 1.53% at 1:29 pm ET.

The Nasdaq 100 was 0.99% lower at 1:23 pm ET. Semiconductor manufacturer Xilinx dropped 6.68% at 1:26 pm ET after the company announced the departure of its chief financial officer a day earlier. Meanwhile, Netflix, plummeted 6.67% at 1:28 pm ET.

The S&P 500 was down 0.37% at 1:24 pm ET.
