Wall Street opens higher after fresh jobs data

Stock indexes in the United States started with gains on Friday, after the US Bureau of Labor Statistics' reports showed that the unemployment rate fell to a 50-year low at 3.5%. The reports also observed that nonfarm payroll employment in the US increased by 136,000 in September. The US Census Bureau and the US Bureau of Economic Analysis reported that the country's trade deficit was 1.6% higher in August compared to July.

The Dow Jones jumped 0.34% at the open. The best performer was Apple with a rise of 1.76% at 3:46 am ET.

The Nasdaq 100 added 0.49%. Semiconductor manufacturing company Skyworks Solutions was the best performer, growing 2.61% at 9:53 am ET.

The S&P 500 climbed 0.53% at 9:31 am ET.

The euro was flat against the dollar to trade at $1.09681 at 9:33 am ET, while the pound decreased by 0.31%, going for $1.22964 at 9:34 am ET.
