EU slapping Broadcom with interim order this month - report

European Union antitrust regulators plan to instruct US chipmaker Broadcom of getting disposed of its exclusivity clauses with TV and modem makers while they investigate if those strategies are obstructing its competitors.

The European Commission will inform national competition agencies on October 7 on its proposed interim measure before getting an official resolution, Reuters reported on Friday, citing a source familiar with the matter.

The investigation by the EU commission started back in June when the regulator requested the tech firm implement the interim measure in order to avoid irreversible distress to the market. Last month the company announced its revenue in the third quarter of 2019 jumped 9% to reach a figure of $5.5 billion.
