Forty-seven attorneys general from the United States and territories joined forces on Tuesday the antitrust investigation led against social network Facebook Inc.

New York Attorney General Letitia James stated that "Facebook may have put consumer data at risk, reduced the quality of consumers' choices and increased the price of advertising."

Together with antitrust experts, state attorneys held a meeting on Monday to decide on the possibility of building an antitrust case against Facebook. James started discussing the Facebook probe already two weeks ago and last month she said her office is starting a multi-state widespread investigation into Facebook and also the Alphabet Inc.
