PayPal's revenue jumps 18.9% to $4.38B in Q3

PayPal Holdings Inc. earned $0.39 per share in the three months through September or 8.3% more than one year before on net income of $462 million or 6% above the previous comparable level. Stocks jumped almost 5% in aftermarket trading after the results were published on Wednesday. Revenue surged 18.9% to $4.38 billion.

During the third quarter, 9.8 million new active accounts were added, bringing the total sum of active accounts up to 295 million. Total payment volume jumped 25% to $179 billion, while the quarter also saw the company process over 1 billion transactions per month for the first time.
