Bayer posts EPS of €1.05 as figure drops 64.2% in Q3 | ![]() |

Bayer's earnings per share from continuing and discontinued operations dropped by 64.2% to €1.05 in the third quarter of the year, the pharmaceutical company announced on Wednesday. Meanwhile, its net income declined by 63.9% over the past 12 months to €1 billion. Bayer's revenue increased by 6.1% year-on-year to €9.8 billion. The company said its earnings before income, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) declined by 56.6% from the same quarter a year ago to €2.28 billion. However, EBITDA before special items was up 7.5% in the same period to €2.29 billion. Bayer also stressed that the number of legal cases against it over Roundup increased in the third quarter of the year. Chairman Werner Baumann stated: "We increased the Group's sales and EBITDA before special items. Business developed well in all divisions.." |
