Report: Facebook looking into changes to political ads policy

Social media giant Facebook is considering changes to its policy on political ads, CNN Business reported on Thursday citing a source familiar with the matter. The most controversial advertising feature, however, will reportedly remain as Facebook hasn't discussed banning false political ads.

The potential changes include banning micro-targeting of political ads and providing more information on sources of the ads. The company has been facing major backlash over its how it runs political ads on its platform, with the chair of the US Federal Election Commission Ellen Weintraub calling on Facebook to end micro-targeting.

Recently, Twitter announced the company is banning all political advertising.
