Google to restrict advertiser access to user data

Google LLC announced on Thursday it will limit advertiser's access to user data in an effort to enhance their privacy.

Starting February, online advertising businesses won't be able to see contextual content about web pages when they bid for display adverts, Alphabet Inc.'s subsidiary said.

The move should "help avoid the risk that any participant in our auctions is able to associate individual ad identifiers with Google's contextual content categories," Chetna Bindra, a member of Google's user trust and privacy team stated.
