Venezuela’s Energy Minister Manuel Quevedo said at the OPEC meeting in Vienna on Friday that Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak is committed to the advocacy of cooperation of OPEC and non-OPEC countries. He also added that OPEC is open to all oil-producing countries in the world and that it is an innovative framework that aims to boost energy efficiency.

Quevedo thanked South Africa and Brazil who came as observers this time. He added that oil should not be used to attack a nation’s sovereignty.

"At the 177th meeting yesterday, we discussed the situation and 2020 market tendencies. We cannot compromise on our goals or lose sight of our achievements. The goal is market stability that is needed for the global economy at large," he said.
