SCOTUS temporarily blocks Deutsche subpoena

Saturday, 07. December 2019 00:34

United States Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on Friday temporarily blocked House Democrats from obtaining the US president Donald Trump’s financial records. The order says that the mandate of the US Court of Appeals issued December 3 is "hereby recalled and stays until 5 p.m. on September 13, 2019. It is further ordered that the response be filed on or before December 11, 2019, by 11 a.m."

The court documents revealed earlier in the day that Trump asked the Supreme Court in an emergency request to halt a subpoena issued by House Democrats seeking his financial records from Deutsche Bank and Capital One.

Trump was responding to a court ruling which ordered Deutsche Bank and Capital One to comply with the subpoenas for the president's financials.
