Prices of crude futures gained over 1% on Friday morning to reach levels unseen since mid-September amid optimism that the trade deal between the United States and China is to be announced. President Donald Trump reportedly already signed off on the deal. The clear victory of Conservatives in the United Kingdom elections also positively affected sentiment.

Brent for February delivery rose 1.64% to $65.28 per barrel at 6:47 am ET. Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate crude futures for deliveries in January jumped 1.33% to $59.99 per barrel.
