US oil rig count down by 15 to 237 - Baker Hughes

The number of oil rigs in the United States decreased by 15 to 237 in the week ending May 29 compared to the previous week, according to the Baker Hughes weekly rig count released on Friday.

Meanwhile, the number of US gas rigs declined by 2 to 77 during the same week to bring the total number of rigs in the country to 301. Compared to the same period a year earlier, the number of oil rigs plunged by 683.

In Canada, the number of rigs decreased by 1 to 20. Oil rigs were down by 1 to 7, while the number of gas rigs remained unchanged at 13. The number of oil rigs in Canada fell by 37 compared to the same time a year ago.
