Russian President Vladimir Putin and Energy Minister Alexander Novak are "in constant contact" over a potential meeting between the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and its allies (OPEC+), Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov revealed on Monday.

Peskov clarified that Putin currently has no plans to officially meet Novak or the representatives of domestic oil companies.

"We will not get ahead of ourselves" and try to predict how any potential alterations to the oil production cut deal would look like, Peskov also said. Earlier today, Energy Intelligence's Amena Bakr reported that a decision on the timing of a new OPEC+ meeting could be announced later in the day.
