Asian stocks mostly higher after optimistic data

The shares on the major stock markets in the Asia-Pacific region traded mostly higher on Monday after optimistic reports from China and Japan. China's National Bureau of Statistics revealed that Beijing's Purchasing Manager's Index rose in August, while Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry reported better-than-expected results on industrial production, which went up 8% in July.

The Shenzhen Composite climbed 0.44% at 7:46 am CET, while the Shanghai Composite concurrently gained 0.71%. Two minutes later Hong Kong's Hang Seng advanced 0.78%.

South Korea's Kospi dipped 0.46% at 7:49 am CET, while, in Japan, the Nikkei 225 advanced 1.35%. The dollar traded 0.19% higher versus the yen, going for ¥105.5750 at 07:51 am CET, while the Australian S&P/ASX 200 stood flat at the same time.
