Facebook’s head of security policy Nathaniel Gleicher said on Tuesday the company has removed the accounts "posted content both in support of and against presidential candidates Pete Buttigieg, Joe Biden and Donald Trump."

Accounts allegedly posed as United States citizens and posted a US presidential election-related content.

According to the company, the accounts were run from China’s Fujian province and were posting, among others, about "Beijing’s interests in the South China Sea."
