Wall Street opens lower as jobs data disappoints

Major stock markets in the United States opened in the red on Thursday after the report on initial jobless claims showed an increase of 4,000 in the week ending September 19. In other news, with a steady daily increase in COVID-19 cases, the US remains the most affected country in the world.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average decreased 0.18% at the opening bell with Amgen Inc. losing 1.45%. The Nasdaq 100 dropped 0.79% at the same time as Tesla shares fell 3.66% at 9:32 am ET. The S&P dipped 0.36%. The worst performer was CarMax Inc. falling 8.11%.

The euro lost 0.13% to the dollar going for $1.16462 at 9:28 am ET.
