The House Democrats stated on Tuesday the probe into Amazon.com Inc., Apple Inc., Alphabet Inc.'s Google LLC, and Facebook Inc. determined that the tech giants enjoy "monopoly power" and called for changes in antitrust laws that would allow the market to remain "free and diverse."

The lawmakers recommended imposing "structural separations and prohibiting dominant platforms from entering adjacent lines of business," while also "requiring them to offer equal terms for equal products and services." In addition, the tech giants should "make their services compatible with various networks and to make content and information easily portable between them.

At the same time, the report suggests improving antitrust laws and their enforcement through the restoration of "the federal antitrust agencies to full strength, by triggering civil penalties and other relief for 'unfair methods of competition' rules."
