Senate panel to subpoena Facebook, Twitter CEOs

United States Senate Judiciary Committee authorized on Thursday subpoenas for the CEOs of Twitter and Facebook Inc. to testify about a report by the New York Post about Hunter Biden, the son of Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden. The Democrats on the panel, who are in the minority, boycotted the session, which also included a vote on the administration's Supreme Court nominee.

The committee said it wanted to question Jack Dorsey and Mark Zuckerberg on the alleged "suppression and/or censorship" of the article, which claimed that Hunter Biden introduced a Ukrainian energy company executive to his father. The former vice president then allegedly tried to end an investigation into the executive by getting the prosecutor fired. Joe Biden has dismissed the report as a "smear campaign."
