Wall Street ends mixed as Biden, Trump campaign

Major stock market indexes in the United States ended mixed on Tuesday as 2020 presidential election campaigning intensified with both President Donald Trump and Democratic nominee Joe Biden criticizing each other at rallies. Additionally, the surge in COVID-19 figures in Europe added to some of the sentiment.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average finished 0.80% in the red as Boeing fell 3.48%. The Nasdaq 100 jumped 0.82% at the end of the day as Xilinx surged 8.56% after the company said it was purchased by AMD for $35 billion. The S&P 500 declined 0.30% at the end of the day, with Franklin resources dropping 13.62%.

The euro was flat against the dollar, going for 1.18090 at 4:02 pm ET.
