Trump calls for annulment of Big Tech 'liability shield'

Wednesday, 28. October 2020 17:57

United States President Donald Trump called for a revocation of Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, citing "corruption" of the media and the Big Tech when it comes to freedom of the press.

"The USA doesn't have Freedom of the Press, we have Suppression of the Story, or just plain Fake News. So much has been learned in the last two weeks about how corrupt our Media is, and now Big Tech, maybe even worse. Repeal Section 230!", Trump tweeted on Wednesday, adding that "Media and Big Tech are not covering Biden Corruption!"

Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act provides immunity from liability for providers and users of an "interactive computer service" who publish third-party users' content.
