Gilead's Q3 revenue at $6.6B, up 17% YoY

Gilead Sciences Inc. revealed on Wednesday that its revenue in the third quarter of 2020 stood at $6.6 billion, marking an increase of 17% in comparison to the same period last year. The company's net income landed at $360 million, compared to the net loss of $1.2 billion reported in the third trimester of 2019, while its diluted earnings per share came in at $0.29, improving from diluted loss per share of $0.92.

"Building on the foundation of our strong core business, which proved its durability once again this quarter, we have now significant opportunity to drive additional growth at an accelerated pace. [...] By following the strategy we laid out at the start of this year, we have significantly improved Gilead's near and long-term growth potential," the firm's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Daniel O'Day commented.

After the release of the report, Gilead's shares went up by 1.98% in the after-hours trading at 4:15 pm ET.
