Google in talks to acquire Indian app ShareChat - report

Google is in talks to buy Indian social media platform ShareChat, the Economic Times reported citing sources familiar with the matter.

According to the report, ShareChat is valued at approximately $1.03 billion and its founders could retain a "small stake" following the potential acquisition by Google.

ShareChat was founded in 2015 by Ankush Sachdeva, who is the company's CEO, Bhanu Pratap Singh, who is its CTO, and Farid Ahsan, who now serves as the COO.
