US closes at record high as Trump signs COVID relief

Trading on Wall Street finished on record highs on Monday as US President Donald Trump suddenly decided to sign a $900 billion economic relief bill into law. It is expected that the House votes on a $2,000 direct payment on Monday.

The Dow Jones gained 0.68% or 204 points at the close. Apple was the best performer rising by 3.58%. The S&P 500 was up 0.87% with DXC Technology Co going up by 5.07%. Meanwhile, the Nasdaq 100 surged 1.01% to its record. Cintas Corp jumped by 4.67%.

The euro increased by 0.14% against the greenback, trading for 1.22079 at 3:55 pm ET.
