Friday, 08. January 2021 22:00

Indices on Wall Street posted record closes on Friday despite the weaker-than-expected jobs report released earlier in the day. According to the latest report from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, nonfarm employment in the United States was down by 140,000 in December, falling for the first time since April.

Today's session was marked by the fallout from Wednesday's riot at the US Capitol, with House Democrats preparing impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump.

The Dow Jones was up 0.18%; Coca Cola was the strongest performer. The S&P 500 advanced 0.55% as Tesla led the gains, surging 7.84%. The Nasdaq 100 jumped 1.28%; Baidu rocketed over 15%.
