Asian markets lower on data, coronavirus news | ![]() |

Major stock indexes in the Asia-Pacific region traded lower on Monday as investors digest the latest economic and coronavirus data. In business, Baidu Inc. and Zhejiang Geely Holding Group said they will form a company to produce intelligent electric vehicles. Japanese Nikkei 225 was closed due to a public holiday. In Mainland China, the Shanghai Composite tumbled 1.03% at 7:30 am CET, while the Shenzhen Composite slid 1.35% a minute later. Hong Kong's Hang Seng was flat at 7:31 am CET. South Korean Kospi Composite slipped 0.11% at 7:31 am CET. Australia's S&P/ASX 200 dropped 0.95% 7:30 am CET. The dollar was 0.19% higher against the yen, to go for ¥104.1335 at 7:30 am CET. |
