Musk donates $100M for carbon capture technology

Tesla's Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk confirmed he will be donating $100 million "towards a prize for best carbon capture technology."

Capturing carbon dioxide (CO2) involves the direct removal of CO2 from flue gas streams through post-combustion techniques.

Musk, therefore, joined a global list of leaders and governments that decided to intervene and combat the climate change challenge. Among companies that first began combating climate change are Chevron and PepsiCo.
