Qualcomm to make chips for GM's next generation vehicles

Qualcomm Inc. announced on Tuesday it has reached an agreement with General Motors on supplying the carmaker with ''cockpit'' chips for its next-generation vehicles.

GM intends to develop digital cockpits, "next-generation telematics systems and future advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS)" for the new series of vehicles by using the 3rd generation Qualcomm Snapdragon Automotive Cockpit Platforms, the statement said.

"GM is a leading technology pioneer in the automotive industry. We are thrilled to be at the heart GM's automotive fleet as the industry embarks on the next generation of mobility with highly advanced digital cockpit, telematics and ADAS," Qualcomm Technologies Senior Vice President Nakul Duggal asserted.
