Shares in Europe finish higher

Stocks markets across Europe enjoyed a day of confident trade, finishing the day in the winning territory. The atmosphere was a bit brighter with good report on jobs in the United States, where employers opened 255,000 positions in July.

The pan-European Stoxx 600 rose 0.99%, while the Euronext 100 added 1.20%.

German DAX rose 1.45%. Car makers and industrials led the gains, while energy, biotech and financials dropped.

In Paris, the CAC 40 climbed up 1.49%, as LafargeHolcim, Peugeot and Renault gained over 3%. Sanofi and Nokia lost.

The FTSE 100 rose 0.79% as Hikma Pharmaceuticals erased huge losses from Thursday. The RBS dropped 5.30%.

The Italian FTSE MIB inclined 2.30% as volatile banks mostly gained.

In Spain, the Ibex 35 (pictured) finished 1.73% higher.

The euro fell 0.15% against the British pound and was 0.41% weaker versus the U.S. dollar. It rose 0.16% against the Swiss franc, and added 0.10% compared to the Japanese yen at 5:50 p.m. CET.
