Europe ends with gains after Eurogroup meeting

European markets ended the trading session on Monday higher after Eurozone Finance ministers nominated Philip Lane, governor of Ireland's Central Bank, as the monetary union's chief economist. Meanwhile, United Kingdom Prime Minister Theresa May rejected Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn's proposal for London to stay in the EU's customs union after Brexit.

The FTSE 100 increased 0.90% at close. Tui AG ORD closed 4.94% higher. The DAX closed 1.06% in the positive territory, led by Wirecard AG gains of 6.08%. The CAC 40 ended the trading session 1.12% higher. The best performer was Publicis Groupe SA, closing up 3.13%. Meanwhile, the euro traded 0.37% lower compared to the dollar, to change hands for 1.1280 at 5:31 pm CET.
