United Kingdom-based chip developer Dialog Semiconductor Plc will buy Taiwanese-based semiconductor company Silicon Motion's FCI mobile communications product line for $45 million, the two companies announced on Thursday.

Under the terms of the deal, Dialog will acquire FCI's portfolio of products, which includes ultra-low-power Wi-Fi devices that are used in the Internet of Things. FCI had revenue of $30 million in 2018 and is primarily located near Seoul, South Korea. The deal is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

Dialog previously signed a $600 million deal with Apple, Inc. for the license of certain power management integrated circuits and the delivery of various other products. It also transferred some of its European assets to the tech giant as well as over 300 engineers and other employees to support chip research and development.
