German chipmaker Infineon Technologies AG announced on Thursday it hired Sven Schneider to be its chief financial officer for three years starting May 1. Schenider has worked at Linde AG since 1995 and as CFO since March 2017.

The current CFO Dominik Asam is leaving the company on April 1 for a position at Airbus SE. Infineon's Chief Executive Officer Reinhard Ploss will perform his duties until Schneider assumes the chief financial position.

"I am delighted to be joining the Infineon Management Board in a few weeks’ time. Microelectronics is the key to a better future, and Infineon plays a decisive role in this with its products in important growth markets. I want to continue to write this success story together with the Infineon employees," said Schneider.
