Europe closes lower after latest data

Major stock markets in Europe ended Friday's trading session with losses after the latest batch of economic data indicated potential economic slowdown in the eurozone. House prices in the United Kingdom decreased by 0.3% in June compared to the previous month, while the German factory orders fell by 8.6% in May year-over-year.

The DAX ended losing 0.54%, weighed down by Siemens AG NA and HeidelbergCement AG losses. The CAC 40 was 0.52% lower at the end of the day, with Schneider Electric decreasing by 4.05%. The FTSE 100 closed 0.66% in the red, as Rio Tinto PLC erased 4.16%.

The euro lost 0.59% against the dollar, exchanging for $1.1215 at 5:38 pm CET, while the pound decreased by 0.44% to $1.2508 at the same time.
