E.ON posts EPS of €0.18 in H1, figure drops of 86% YoY

E.ON said its earnings per share (EPS) in the first half of 2019 fell by 86% YoY to €0.18. In the same period, sales increased by 4.3% to €15.7 billion but net income fell by 81% to €544 million.

In the second quarter of 2019, E.ON said its EPS came in at €0, marking a significant fall from €0.84 per share in the same three-month period a year ago. Net income in the second quarter was €51 million, falling 97.3% from the same quarter in 2018. Sales in the same period increased from €6.6 billion to €6.9 billion.

CEO Johannes Teyssen said: "Our first-half adjusted EBIT of €1.7 billion and adjusted net income of €0.9 billion are in line with our expectations. We can therefore reaffirm our forecast for the 2019 financial year. We continue to expect our adjusted EBIT to be between €2.9 and €3.1 billion and our adjusted net income to be between €1.4 and €1.6 billion. We also reaffirm our proposed dividend for the 2019 financial year of 46 cents per share."
